Programs Include:

1. Align Your Dreams With Your Power
This is one of the most motivational and powerful programs you can bring to your campus. This fun, power-packed, and interactive program will teach students that they hold the power right now to achieve the dream they began when they enrolled in your college or university.
Nancy Shugart stands before the students as living proof that a student with a made up mind holds the power to succeed against all odds!
Blindness could not keep Nancy from earning her bachelor's and master's degree and living her dream as a public school teacher.
More importantly, students will learn that, when they align their dreams with their power, there is nothing that can keep them from completing their degree and living the exciting dream they have always envisioned for their life!

2. How to Absolutely Open The Door To Your Dream Job!
Great for Career Day, job fairs, and any student gathering interested in this topic!
Nancy Shugart was told during her senior year in college to change her major because she'd never be able to get the job she wanted.
Why did she refuse to give up?
How did she get the job that so many said she could never get?
Find out in this fun, motivational, and informative program.
Students will:
  • learn what it takes to stand out from the crowd and be noticed by employers
  • learn what to do when they get rejected for a job
  • be inspired to believe in themselves
  • discover the keys that will absolutely open the door for their dream job

This program is ideal for both students with and without a disability for it is delivered by a person who has experienced many of the same challenges that your students will face in searching for a job.
Having a disability did not keep Nancy from securing the job she had always wanted.
She will provide evidence that, no matter how difficult their situation may be, your students hold the power to get their dream job when they discover the keys to getting hired!

3. Let The Dream Begin!
Perfect for Orientation, Welcome Week, and Back to School!
This fun, motivational, and interactive program will have students and parents excited about the new journey on which they are about to embark!
Using personal stories, humor, and even a little magic, students and parents will hear how Nancy Shugart, who is blind, dared to achieve what most said would be impossible, how she nearly dropped out of college, and what happened to cause her to absolutely refuse to give up.
More importantly, students will learn how to insure their own college success and parents will learn the important role they have in this exciting journey!
Before this program ends, students will be convinced that nothing can stand in their way of earning their degree and parents will be so very proud of their decision to have their son or daughter pursue a higher education at your fine college or university!

4. The Lights Are Out But I'm Working Hard
Ideal for Multicultural affairs, residential life, any Greek sponsored lecture, or any general audience where students could benefit from developing a positive understanding of people who are viewed as being different.
Nancy will entertain with personal stories of growing up being blind and how many thought she was different from most people.
Humor and magic are used to drive home the main points that will help students form a positive understanding of those who are considered to be different.
This is a fun and interactive program which will motivate students to begin communicating with others who, in the past, they may have avoided.

5. Stepping Out From Behind-How to Know When It's Time to Lead!
A must-have program for student leadership meetings, Greek sponsored lectures, career development, and student conferences
This fun and interactive program will focus on the essential keys needed for stepping away from the crowd and becoming an outstanding leader.
How can a woman who is blind know how to lead when she can't see where she's going?
Learn what had to happen in Nancy Shugart's life to force her to want to lead and to stop following behind other people.
More importantly, students will learn the steps they must take to develop invaluable leadership skills.
These skills will be brought to life with personal stories, humor and, if the audience is good, (smile) a little magic!
