Who We Are

Prove Them Wrong was founded in 2002 by Nancy Shugart after a successful 21-year teaching career in the public schools.

Nancy Shugart is an author, speaker, businesswoman, community volunteer, and former educator who, as a child, was not expected to amount to much. But she proved them wrong. More About Nancy Shugart

We teach, we inspire, and we provide evidence of what is truly possible.

Why We Do This

We see tremendous courage everyday in our youth and in adults who refuse to accept the words "You can't."

We believe that, if only others had known what was possible, they, too, would have found the courage to persist.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide evidence of what happens when children, teens, and adults have the courage to not give up.
